Job Announcement:
The Lebanon Township Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Entry Level Police Officer. No experience necessary, but preference given to NJ PTC Certified applicants. Correction Officers and Class II are waiverable however are required to undergo the Pre-Academy Standards and PT Test!
Our small department of officers work a pitman schedule, 12 hours rotating monthly days and nights. Our officers are also sent on numerous in-service training courses to ensure they are highly trained in a variety of law enforcement specialties. These courses have included, but are not limited to: FTO (Field Training Officer), Crash Investigation, Firearms Instruction, Arson Investigation, Detective, School Resource Officer, Police Academy Instructor, Methods of Instruction, Humane Law Enforcement Officer, HGN, Radar Instruction among many other career enhancing training opportunities. MINIMUM CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of age and not have reached their 35th birthday prior to the date of appointment;
Citizen of the United States and resident of the State of New Jersey;
Of good mental and bodily health;
Able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently;
Of good moral character and free from conviction of any crime constituting an indictable offense, or any crime or offense involving moral turpitude;
Able to pass a physical, oral and psychological examinations;
A graduate of a high school, vocational high school or possession of an approved equivalent certificate;
Valid NJ Driver’s License;
Entry level untrained candidates will be considered with preference given to currently NJPTC Certified: BCPO, Alternate Route Graduates or currently enrolled in a BCPO course, SLEO II or BCI Waiver Eligible Certifications (N.J.A.C. 13:1-8.4).
SALARY:
Starting Salary - $53, 909.55. (Starting salary is negotiable, commensurate with years of experience)
Top Patrol Salary - $121,049.74 (Collective Bargaining Agreement set to renew the end of 2025)
