$129,226 Top Pay For Police Officers$61,016 Non-Certified (While attending the Police Academy)$70,403 NJ PTC Certified
Schedule:
- Enjoy a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule
- Shifts consist of 10-hour days
Benefits:
- Comprehensive benefits package as per collective bargaining agreement
- Includes major medical health plan, prescription plan, dental insurance, and group life insurance under the Police & Fire Retirement System
Academy/Field Training Program:
- Police Training Commission candidates undergo a probationary period of one year from employment
- Non-Police Training Commission candidates undergo a probationary period of one year from graduation from a certified Police Academy
- Completion of a sixteen-week Field Training Program post-academy graduation
- NJ Transit Police Officers serve statewide, fully certified by the NJ Division of Criminal Justice, Police Training Commission
- Candidates must be willing to accept assignments throughout New Jersey
