NOTICE OF HIRING
CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER
The Bedminster Township Police Department is seeking to hire for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. We are looking for hardworking, dedicated, and energetic individuals for our police department. We are comprised of officers who are community oriented and who take pride in their proactive response to crime and quality of life issues. Applicants must possess a New Jersey PTC Basic Course for Police Officers Certification, or be an Alternate Route police academy graduate or possess a SLEO-II Certification that is eligible to receive a waiver from the New Jersey PTC. Recruits currently attending a police academy are eligible to apply as well. Bedminster Township is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey by the date of appointment.
- Possess a valid New Jersey driver's license.
- Be between the ages of 21 and 35 years of age.
- Have a good moral character, and has not been convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude.
- Be at least a high school graduate or have earned a General Educational Development (GED) diploma.
- Be psychologically and physically fit to perform all of the duties of a Police Officer.
- Be able to read, write, and speak the English language well and intelligently.

- Starting Salary $57,585.48. (Starting salary may be increased based on experience).

Hiring Process:
- The department will accept resumes and cover letters from potential candidates. Selected candidates will go before an interview panel. Candidates selected to continue in the process will be asked to submit an application.
- Those selected candidates must then complete and pass a thorough background investigation, a psychological and medical examination to include a drug screening.
