PRIMARY DUTIES
Provides Information Technology (IT) support utilizing automated law enforcement systems and software and hardware for use in law enforcement activities.  Provides a wide range of analytical and desktop support services on a variety of products to all members/employees of the Department.  Performs technical and analytical work within the Department to compare, interpret, fix hardware and disseminate information from data systems and instruct personnel in the best practical use of various software and hardware products. Administers and maintains the attendance modules utilizing data management platforms which interface with the Payroll System. Promotes optimizing and integrating scheduling, allocating overtime, and deployment of personnel while adhering to labor laws, Provides project management leadership as required. Acts as steward for all computer software related training for new employees/members and to keep members/employees current on all changes. Provides training and instruction in the use of various software like CAD, RMS, Telestaff, Workforce and Microsoft Professional Office Suite. An incumbent in this position may occasionally be required to work flexible schedules and hours in order to meet operational requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computers and Management or related field, or equivalent experience. Hands on experience with desktop support like PC issues, printer issues etc. Possess understanding of law enforcement reporting, record keeping practices as well as knowledgeable in payroll procedures and rules. Possess experience with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Suite (RMS), Telestaff, and Microsoft Professional Office Suite programs. Must have familiarity and experience with project management and possess strong organizational and research skills .Must have the ability to write clearly and concisely for a variety of purposes, such as: reports of assistance provided, workshops, task force summaries, crime data analysis, statistical data, etc. Must pass necessary clearances and background checks as required for the position by the Chief of Police.
