The Township of Franklin Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Full Time Police Officer. We serve approximately 22, 000 residents. We are hiring for multiple positions. We respond to an average of 30,000 calls for service a year.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants are required to be a US Citizen, 18 years of age or older, hold a high school degree or its equivalent, be a resident of New Jersey during the appointment term and currently hold a PTC certification for Full Time Police Officer or Class II Special Officer.
Applicants must be able to successfully pass a physical fitness test, written test, psychological evaluation, and urinalysis.
Applicants must be of good reputation and be of sound moral character, possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License and undergo a complete background investigation.
The Franklin Township Police Department is responsible for the safety of our 56-square mile township. In addition, and thanks to a shared services agreement, Franklin Township police also patrol the neighboring boroughs of Buena and Newfield.

Detective Bureau
The Franklin Township Police Department’s highly experienced detectives utilize both traditional and modern technologies in gathering evidence in order to get offenders off the streets and ensure a successful prosecution. The team works closely with other municipal, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies whenever needed.
