ABOUT RAYMOND, NH

Raymond is located in southeastern New Hampshire in Rockingham County. It is about 24 square miles with a population of about 10,500. It has a nice mix of business and residential area's. It has three (3) schools (elementary, middle, and high school). Many major routes/roadways run through Raymond to include Route 101.

Departmental Mission

The mission of the Raymond Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the Town of Raymond by working cooperatively with the public and within the framework of the United State Constitution to enforce the laws, preserve the peace, reduce fear and provide for a safe environment.

CODE OF ETHICS

As a law enforcement officer, an officer's fundamental duty shall be to serve humankind, to safeguard lives and properties; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the constitutional rights of all persons with liberty, equality and justice.

All law enforcement officers shall keep their private lives unsullied as an example to all; maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn, or ridicule; develop self-restraint; and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others.  Honest in thought and deed in both their personal and official life, they shall be exemplary in obeying the laws of the land and the regulations of their department.  Whatever they see or hear of a confidential nature or that is confided in them in their official capacity shall be kept ever secret unless revelation is necessary in the performance of their duty.

No police officer shall ever act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, animosities or friendships to influence their decisions.  With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution of criminals, they shall enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favor, malice or ill will, never employing unnecessary force or violence and never accepting gratuities.

Police officers shall recognize the badge of their office as a symbol of public faith and accept it as a public trust to be held so long as they are true to the ethics of the police service.  They shall constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating themselves to their chosen profession - law enforcement.
