2024 FIRE RECRUITMENT DRIVE

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation fire department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of ARFF crewperson who demonstrates good judgement, an even temperament, respect and appreciate diversity, show creativity and problem-solving skills, think on their feet, handle pressure, and show leadership skills.

As a crewperson you will be part of a team that partners with local and federal agencies to ensure the safe travel for a dynamic air transportation hub which is vital to Rhode Island’s economy.

RI AIRPORT CORPORATION ARFF CREWPERSON APPLICATION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Previous documented experience in the fire service
• Current CPAT or RI PPA required
• Current RI EMT-B or NREMT-B License required

5. Background Investigation
6. Conditional Offer of Employment
7. Medical Examination
8. NFPA 1003 ARFF Academy - unless already completed
9. Probationary Period
10. Shift Assignment

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Starting salary as of July 1, 2023 $46,699

• Starting consists of four rotating crews. The typical workweek consists of a rotating schedule of 24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on, and 5 days off
• 11 paid holidays annually
• Medical, Dental, and Prescription Coverage
• 414H Plan
• Clothing replacement and maintenance allowance

DOCUMENTS NEEDED:

1. Photocopy of valid driver’s license
2. Photocopy of high school diploma or GED
3. Photocopy of current CPAT or RI PPA certificate
4. Photocopy of Level II Firefighters Certificate
5. Copy of RI EMT-B or NREMT-B License
6. Proof of previous experience in volunteer, on-call, or career fire service
