ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER
The Town of Wolcott is seeking entry level applicants for the position of Police Officer.
The Wolcott Police Department is participating in the CPCA entry level written test program. Only individuals who take and pass the CPCA written test will be permitted to apply to the Wolcott Police Department. For more information regarding this program and to register to take the CPCA test, see the information listed above in the "Job Prerequisites" section.
Entry Level applicants must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license
- Must be a U.S. citizen by the date of appointment
- Must be 21 years old
- Valid CHIP Card is required to be presented at the time of the Oral Exam
- Must not have been convicted by a court of any felony, any class A or class B misdemeanor or have committed any act which would constitute perjury or false statement.
Benefits:
- Upon completion of recruit status, pay increases to $78,000 with top step after 3 years at $96,200 (including holiday pay and uniform allowance)
- Yearly Holiday pay approximately $4,200 (paid semi-annually)
- Yearly uniform allowance $800
- New 5/3 schedule pending approval
- 401 K – After 6 months officer contributes 3% and town contributes 6% after 5 years increased to 4% and 7%, respectively. Fully vested after 6 years
- After 20 years of service may retire with full medical for family
- 457 Deferred Compensation Plan
- Longevity Bonus Compensation
- 1 week vacation at 6 months, 2 weeks at 1 year, and 3 weeks at 5 years
- 18 Sick Days per year
- Private Duty Rate $75.58/hour and multi-town private duty agreement
