Job Announcement:
Ridgefield Police Department will be holding an entrance exam for the position of police officer
The exam will be held on Thursday, June 20th at 6pm at the Ridgefield community center located at 725 Slocum Ave, Ridgefield NJ 07657.
Pre-registration is required at which time a non refundable fee of $135.00 will be submitted with the application.
Qualifications for Applicants:
- Must be a resident of New Jersey and a citizen of the United States.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Possess a minimum of a bachelors degree from an Accredited College. An Associates degree may be substituted for this education requirement only if the candidate has 4 years prior law enforcement or 3 years military experience.
- Must have the ability to perform all the tasks, duties and essential job functions of a police officer.
- Must have no criminal history and possess a good moral character.
- Must speak, read and write English fluently.
- Must successfully pass a full medical and a psychological exam.

A select Number of top scorers will be scheduled for a physical fitness test and oral interview.
Salary:
Starting salary is $46,988 with 13 total steps to $154,206.
