Minimum Requirements:

  • Citizen of the United States and resident of New Jersey;
  • Of good mental and physical health;
  • Able to read, write, and speak the English language;
  • Of good moral character and free from conviction of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude;
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent;
  • Possess a valid NJ Driver’s License;
  • At least 21 years of age, and must not have reached age 35 prior to date of hire
  • If certified, must be employed by a NJ Civil Service agency
  •  

Job Description/General Duties:

During an assigned tour of duty, on foot, or in an automobile, patrols a designated area to provide assistance and protection for persons, to safeguard property, to assure observance of the law, and to apprehend law-breakers; does related work as required.
