The Coventry Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency located in Northeastern Connecticut. There are sixteen sworn officers and five civilian staff members providing service to approximately 12,500 residents located within 37 square miles. Coventry is approximately 15 miles east of Hartford and five miles from the UCONN Storrs Campus. The Town is mostly residential with easy access to Interstates 84 and 384. Coventry Lake, Patriot’s Park and Lisicke Beach offer a variety of recreational activities and events during the summer months.
Officers conduct all aspects of law enforcement services including preventative patrol, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement and community service.
The department has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. at the advanced level since 2010 and is also fully accredited by the Connecticut POST Council.
