Job Announcement:
Police Property & Evidence Technician
Part-Time
Up to 24 hrs/week
This is a non-sworn position within the Mount Airy Police Department that performs law enforcement related duties associated with the care and custody of seized evidence, body worn camera technology and found property as well as quartermaster duties associated with operational/enforcement supplies and police uniforms and related duty gear for sworn and non-sworn personnel.
Desired qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of office, equipment and evidence management.
- Previous law enforcement experience required.
- Must possess the ability to deal with the State’s Attorney’s office and other law enforcement agencies.
- Clear verbal and written communications skills are a must.
- Must be able to work independently, use discretion and operate with a high level of competence.
- Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
- Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check and polygraph exam.
