The Town of Weston Police Department is currently accepting applications for the positions of: Police Officer – Certified Candidates
The Weston Police Department employs 17 sworn officers, including a Chief, Captain, 3 Sergeants, Detective, 2 SRO’s and 9 patrol officers. The Weston Police Department offers generous salary and benefits. Salary Range of $73,086 to $124,351 depending on Grade and rank as defined in the collective bargaining agreement. The Town of Weston Police Department contributes to and is part of the CMERS pension system. Lateral transfers are eligible to start at a higher pay grade.
POLICE OFFICER POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants must be United States Citizens, at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
- No felony convictions
- No Class A or Class B misdemeanor convictions
- No Domestic Violence convictions
- No act of perjury or false statement
- Upon hiring - Residence within 30 miles of police headquarters
- Pass an employment psychological and polygraph examination
- Full background investigation
- Completion of the CPCA written test with a minimum score of 70 (select entry level or lateral as appropriate). The test must be completed less than 6 months prior to the application closing date.
- Pass a comprehensive medical exam and drug screen
ADDITIONAL CRITERIA FOR CERTIFIED OFFICERS
- Must be Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC) certified current and in good standing.
- Minimum two years’ experience from certification date
- Not dismissed from any former law enforcement unit for malfeasance or other serious misconduct (or resigned or retired while under investigation for same)
