HIRING ANNOUNCEMENT
FULL TIME NJ PTC CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER
Applicants must possess a New Jersey Police Training Commission Basic Course for Police Officers Certification, or be an Alternate Route Police Academy Recruit or Graduate, or Possess a Special Law Enforcement Officer 2 Certification, or a Correctional Officer that is eligible to receive a waiver from the New Jersey Police Training Commission.
GENERAL DUTIES
Under the direction of a shift supervisor, performs a variety of public safety work providing emergency aid, security and protection to the community’s citizens.

The Borough of Flemington is located in Hunterdon County.
The Flemington Police Department currently has 16 full time sworn officers.
The Flemington Police Department currently works a Pitman schedule for patrol officers.
Officers patrol a combined 1.3 square miles, comprised of neighborhoods, downtown shopping district, shopping malls and major state highway and county roadways.
Specialized Units - Community Outreach, Bicycle, Criminal Investigative Division, Water Rescue, K9 (Patrol, Narcotics, and Explosives)
Step one salary $54,274, 10% Medical, 8 steps to $113,910 (for 2025)
Clothing Allowance, $500 EMT / Fire Stipend, Longevity
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- US Citizen
- Must be 21 years or older
- Resident of New Jersey at time of appointment
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License at time of appointment
- Graduated from High School or GED program
- Associate's degree or 60 College Credits
- New Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC) Certification
- Bi-Lingual a positive.
