The officers and staff of our department take pride in the strong relationships they have fostered over the years with our university community. I truly believe our department strives to provide dedicated and professional service as outlined in our mission.

University Police Officers are required to take and pass a demanding police academy program and receive state certification as police officers sworn to uphold the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Connecticut. They must continually attend mandated training to keep them current regarding legal decisions and statutory changes. These officers are committed to your safety and to providing a safe environment for everyone that attends or visits our campus. Our department offers many safety-related programs to enhance our crime prevention efforts, safety awareness and overall campus security.

The mission of the Department is to enhance the educational and life experience opportunities for the campus community through dedicated and professional service in a manner that respects and protects the rights of everyone. Police officers strive to provide a safe and secure environment by collaborating with other campus entities to emphasize preventive and problem solving policing. Department members serve the community with professionalism and enthusiasm.
