The Coventry Police Department is accepting applications for POST certified officers for the position of police officer. The Coventry Police Department is a nationally accredited agency by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).  Regionally, we participate in the Metro Traffic Services team for accident reconstruction and traffic enforcement, along with the Capitol Region Emergency Services Team.  The Coventry Police Department is focused on community policing and problem solving.  Located in northeastern CT, Coventry has approximately 12,500 residents and is minutes from the UCONN campus.

Salary range is $75,566 to $91,665 plus a comprehensive benefits package.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  Benefits include paid vacations, holiday pay, health and dental insurance, disability insurance, sick leave, pension, and the ability to earn compensatory time and earned days.  Patrol officers also work ten hour shifts with approximately twenty-six weekends off per year.  Officers transferring from other agencies may have the ability to buy back some of their years of service towards retirement.
