MT. ARLINGTON BOROUGH  POLICE DEPARTMENT 

HIRING ANNOUNCEMENT - PATROL OFFICER

The Mount Arlington Borough Police Department is currently accepting applications for the Position of Patrol officer.

PTC certified or Class II waiver eligible preferred but not required. 

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  In order to be eligible for this process, applicants must meet the following standards:

  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be a resident of New Jersey and posses a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
  • Be not more than 35 years or less than 18 years of age, except as otherwise provided by law.
  • Be sound of body and mind and of good health, sufficient to satisfy the Board of Trustees of the Police and Firemen's Retirement System of New Jersey that he or she is eligible for membership in the retirement system.
  • Be able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently.
  • Be of good moral character and not have been convicted of an indictable offense or of a crime involving moral turpitude. 
  • Complete a Physical Agility exam as per PTC Standards.
  • Submit to an oral examination to be in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for the governance of the Borough's Police Department. 
  • Has earned an Associate's Degree, or at least 60 college credits from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in police science, public safety administration, political science, criminal justice or a related field prior to the date of appointment.
  • PTC certified or Class II waiver eligible preferred but not required.
  • Must satisfy all requirements of police licensing pursuant to NJSA 52:17b.

Physical Testing will be held on April 19th, times will be provided once application is returned. 

Mt. Arlington Police Department offers a competitive starting salary of $61,775 medical and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, continued training and development and enrollment in the New Jersey Police and Firemen's Retirement System.
