We have a proud history of ensuring public safety and enhancing quality of life in Edgewater, New Jersey, a 2.86 square-mile community of approximately 15,000 residents located in Bergen County on the shorelines of the Hudson River. The residents of Edgewater are fortunate to have a relatively low rate of violent crime incidents and property crimes. We handle approximately 23,000 calls for service per year. The Edgewater Police Department has worked hard to ensure that we are maintaining quality services to its community. Our priority is the safety of all of our community members regardless of age, race, religion, or sexual orientation. Our goal continues to focus on serving the needs of the community.

Applicants must waive internal investigation file, sick time records, and submit to a comprehensive & full investigation.

***APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT LETTER OF APPROVAL FROM COMMANDING OFFICER APPROVING OF CIVIL SERVICE IGT TRANSFER.
