POLICE OFFICER
$48,000 to $150,683 plus overtime
Minimum Requirements:
- Resident of New Jersey and Citizen of United States
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- 60 College Credits
- 18 to 35 years of age
- Possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s license
- Possess a valid New Jersey PTC certificate
- Must be of good moral character, sound body, and good health
- No criminal record
- Able to pass medical examination, psychological examination, background examination and drug screening
Job Description/General Duties:
Respond to a multitude of diverse and varied calls for service while taking a pro-active approach in thwarting crime and enforcing traffic laws.
About Our Department:
The Brielle Police Department is an accredited agency recognized by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police. The department is led by Chief Gary Olsen with 1 captain, 1 lieutenant, 5 sergeants and 8 patrol officers. The police department has 3 full time detectives, along with a traffic bureau, SRO, logistics and special projects office.
The Borough of Brielle is located in Monmouth County, New Jersey along the Manasquan River shoreline boasting 4 miles of riverfront that is home to hundreds of boats. Brielle continues to be one of the commercial and charter fishing “hubs” of the Jersey Shore. Brielle is proud of both its diversity and its traditional American spirit displayed by our nearly 5,000 residents. The officers of the Brielle Police Department serve our residents through the use of various patrol methods including SUV's, Bicycle Patrols and a Marine Unit, each of which are outfitted with state of the art equipment.
The Brielle Police Department provides excellent opportunities for special assignments including: Traffic Safety and Reconstruction Unit, Investigations, K-9 Unit, School Resource Officer, Marine Unit, Professional Standards and Training Unit .
