Plainsboro Police Department Recruitment
The Plainsboro Township Police Department, Middlesex County, NJ, is accepting applications from qualified candidates for a position of full-time Entry Level Police Officer. Candidates shall not be under any contractual obligation to another department under NJSA 40A:14-178 or must be willing to satisfy any training reimbursement to the prior department.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be a US citizen and a resident of NJ at the time of appointment.
- 21 years of age, must not reach the age of 35 prior to date of hire.
- Applicant shall be of good moral character, sound body, and good health.
- Applicants shall be able to read and write the English language well.
- Applicants shall have no convictions of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude.
- An Associates/Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, but not required.
- Applicants with no college degree will be required to obtain a minimum of sixty college credits within four years of employment date. (College reimbursement offered, in accordance with the current collective bargaining)
- An applicant must have two (2) years of verifiable employment, or a minimum of two (2) years active military service with honorable discharge.
- Must be eligible for PTC Licensing Requirements (PTC certification not required at time of appointment)
- Applicants are required to pass a physical fitness exam, oral boards, extensive background investigation, medical and psychological examinations, and a drug screening prior to appointment.
The physical fitness test administered is the same standard Plainsboro Police Officers are required to pass bi-annually.

2025 Starting Salary: $66,712 upon completion of Police Academy
