Required Qualifications:

• Certified in Basic Course for Police Officers by the NJ Police Training Commission, OR
• Currently enrolled in a Police Training Commission certified NJ Police Academy, OR
• Certified as a NJ Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II and meet the requirements set forth by the NJ Police Training Commission to be eligible for a waiver to Basic Course for Police Officers.

Additional Requirements:

• 21 years of age and less than 35 years of age at time of appointment;
• Must be a resident of New Jersey and citizen of the United States;
• Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license;
• Applicants must be of good moral and ethical character.

Process:

• Detailed application;
• Initial oral interview process;
• Command level interview process with Paulsboro Police Administration;
• Complete and pass an extensive background investigation;
• Complete and pass a psychological and medical examination to include a drug screening test.

Benefits:

• Starting salary $47,500.00 - $111,100.00. Salary is directly dependent upon prior experience

Incentives:

• 2025 Top Patrol Officer Base Salary (not including incentives): $111,100.00 (seven steps)
