Hiring Notice – Police Officer
BCPO Certified or Alternate Route Candidate
The South River Police Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. Applicants must have a Basic Course for Police Officers (BCPO) certification from the New Jersey State Police Training Commission (NJPTC) or be enrolled in same as an alternate route candidate.

- Salary Range: $59,226 - $147,655
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a resident of the State of New Jersey.
- Must be a United States Citizen.
- Must pass a psychological exam.
- Must pass a medical exam and have a doctor completed Medical Certification.
- Must pass a drug test as per Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Drug Testing Policy.
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check.
- Must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and not over 35 years of age.
- Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED equivalent.
- Must pass an oral examination.
