STARTING SALARY $46,000 to $88,000
GENERAL DUTIES
The South Bound Police Department is looking for candidates for the position of police officer who are intelligent, possess good report writing skills, good verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving ability, are community oriented, and who have a good work ethic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- NJPTC Basic Course for Police Officer Certification Required or currently enrolled in Basic Course for Police Officer
- SLEO II Waiver Eligible may be considered
- At least 18 years of age and less than 35 years of age by the time of appointment
- US Citizen
- Resident of NJ by the time of appointment
- Valid NJ Driver's license at time of appointment
- Good physical condition
- Must not have ever been convicted of any crime of the first, second, third or fourth degree, as designated by the Criminal Code of New Jersey, or a crime or felony offense in any other jurisdiction that involved moral turpitude or, at the time of application, is undergoing or awaiting court action of any kind in regard to such a crime or felony offense.

Applicants must be NJ PTC Basic Course for Police Officer certified or currently attending the Basic Course for Police Officer at an accredited NJ Police Academy. Candidates eligible for a SLEO II Waiver may be considered. The South Bound Brook Police Department is an equal opportunity employer.
Starting salary is dependent upon the provisions of the current collective bargaining agreement; which is currently $46,000. Years of experience as a full-time Police Officer in the State of New Jersey may be considered to increase starting salary up to, but not exceeding $88,000.
