NORTH PLAINFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT IS HIRING
SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER CLASS III
The North Plainfield Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Class III Special Law Enforcement Officers.
A person is eligible to be appointed as a Class III Special Law Enforcement Officer if he or she is a retired police officer less than 65 years old and has served as a duly qualified, fully-trained, full-time municipal or county police officer or was regularly employed as a full-time member of the State police. The person also has to be physically capable of performing the job and have the appropriate law enforcement and safe schools resource officer training.
Starting Salary for the Class III Special Police Officer shall be $30.00 per hour, and he/she shall work a schedule of up to 40 hours weekly, hours will vary upon assignment. The Class III Special Police Office shall only work when school is in session.
Applicants shall provide the following documents at the time of application:
- Resume
- Copy of PTC Certificate
- Retiree Pension Statement
- Copy of NJ Driver’s License
Preference will give to those officers with the below-listed experience and certifications:
- Juvenile Officer, School Resource Officer Certification, DARE/LEAD Certified
