FULL TIME NJ PTC CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER
GENERAL DUTIES
Exercise authority consistent with the obligations imposed by the oath of office and in conformance with the general duties of the Department. To protect life and property, preserve the peace and perform their duties promptly, faithfully and diligently.
ABOUT GARWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT
- The Borough of Garwood has a resident population of 5,000 and growing.
- The Borough of Garwood is centrally located in Union County.
- The Garwood Police Department currently has 17 full time sworn officers.
- The Garwood Police Department currently works a 4 day on and 4 day off schedule for patrol officers.
- Starting salary is based on experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS'
- Must be 18 years or older
US Citizen
Graduated from High School or GED program
Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
New Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC) Certification a must. - Applicants currently in enrolled in an alternate route academy with a 2024 graduation date are encouraged to apply
