Certified in Basic Course for Police Officers by the NJ Police Training Commission, OR
Currently enrolled in a Police Training Commission certified NJ Police Academy, OR
Certified as a NJ Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II AND meet the requirements set forth by the NJ Police Training Commission and be eligible for a waiver to Basic Course for Police Officers.
Additional Requirements:
21 years of age and less than 35 years of age at time of appointment
Must be a resident of New Jersey and citizen of the United States
Shall have graduated from high school or possess a General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Ability to perform all tasks and duties of a police officer
Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license
Must not have been convicted of a crime
Applicants must be of good moral and ethical character
