 POLICE OFFICER

The Hobart Police Department is now accepting applications. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be at Least 20 years of age to apply and 21 years of age on date of appointment and no more 39 years age unless already a member of 1977 Indiana Public Employee Retirement Fund (PERF)

Hold a high school diploma or GED

Be a United States Citizen

Possess a valid driver's license

Have no prior felony convictions

SALARY

  • Starting Salary: $57,750 (2025)
  • Salary after 1 year (Lateral Applicants after FTO): $72,161 (2025)

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

  • Written, agility, and panel interview March 8th at 8am
  • Administrative Interview  (Week of March 10th)
  • Background Investigation
  • Medical and Psychiatric Evaluation (For non-1977 PERF Members)
  • Acceptance into INPRS 1977 PERF Fund
