Police Officer Full Time
The Town of Rye New Hampshire is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. The applicant may be certified as a full-time police officer or eligible for certification through the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council. The Town of Rye offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Pay: $27.54 - $30.69 per hour.
Job Summary
Performs responsible and visible law enforcement duties including patrol, investigation, traffic control, and a variety of other duties to preserve the peace and protect life and property in the Town. Enforces Federal and State laws, local ordinances, and by-laws.
Minimum Qualifications Required
High school graduate or equivalent (associate degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement and/or previous law enforcement experience preferred); certification by New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council as a full-time Police Officer or eligibility for certification; possession of a valid driver’s license; demonstrated computer, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to meet the physical fitness entrance requirements of the New Hampshire Police Standards & Training Council; ability to pass criminal and financial background checks prior to employment.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. Officers who currently hold a certification will be subject to a streamlined background process. The Rye Police Department conducts pre-employment medical, drug, and alcohol testing for all candidates.
