MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess a current New Jersey Police Training Commission (NJPTC) Certificate for BCPO or currently attending a certified NJPTC academy or SLEO II officers eligible for waiver from the NJPTC
Applicants must have at least 60 College Credits or 3 years of military experience concluding with an honorable discharge
Be a United States Citizen
Be a resident of New Jersey
Hold a valid New Jersey driver’s license
Have the ability to read, write and speak the English language clearly and intelligently
Have and demonstrate good moral character and have not been convicted of any crime constituting an indictable offense or any offense involving moral turpitude; verified by a background investigation

Long Hill Township has a population of about 9,000 residents and is about 12.13 square miles. 55% of the Township consists of vacant land, parks, conservation and open space areas, due principally to the existence of wetlands, flood plains and steep slopes. 47% of the township is public parkland.
Our Department consists of a close-knit group of 23 officers.
