Job Summary:
Provides general support services for the Euless Police Department to include maintenance of jail operations and record keeping functions. Responsible for limited supervision of jail activities and assists with the record keeping of the department.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school education or GED.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must have no prior convictions of any felony; no misdemeanor convictions of Class A, or Class B within the past ten years.

Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation and a polygraph examination.

Must be able to pass a psychological examination.

Must be able to work shifts and be available for emergency callout 24 hours a day.

Must possess current valid TX driver's license.

Must be able to perform all duties under stressful conditions.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Meets and communicates with general public. Completes reports. Answers telephone. Enters/retrieves data from computer. Maintains security in jail; fingerprints/photographs prisoners. Receives money and completes paperwork. Attends to personal needs of prisoners. Transfers prisoners. Performs general housekeeping duties and directs prisoners activity. Assists with arraignments, maintains jail log, operates city vehicles; processes and searches incoming prisoners. Performs other job related duties as may be assigned by supervisors.

Functional Job Description:
50% of time is spent sitting. Remaining 50% involves standing, walking, driving, carrying, and prisoner restraint. Carrying weight of 20-25 pounds. Performs general light housekeeping duties. Restrains prisoner with safety considerations. Job is performed mainly working indoors in a controlled environment. Near/far/color vision. Stair/step climbing.

Must pass all pre-employment processes including but not limited to Drug Screen, Physical Examination, and applicable Background Checks.
