The Town of Townsend Massachusetts is now accepting applications for Full-Time Police Officer. Full-time certified applicants are preferred. Applications accepted through November 29, 2024.
Minimum Qualifications

Testing Requirements
Ability to pass a written, physical agility, and assessment test in addition to an extensive background check. The written test is waived for applicants who have passed the Massachusetts Civil Service Examination or who are full time certified police officers.
Salary
- Salary range for FY25 is $58,065 to $75,996 (commensurate with experience) with a very competitive benefit package. Education incentive pay of 5% of base pay for associates, 10% for bachelor degree, 12.5% for masters/terminal degree.
Benefits
Townsend offers paid training, 12 paid holidays, accrued vacation and sick leave, bereavement leave, and a yearly clothing allowance. Salary and Vacation commensurate with experience.
Officers work a 4 and 2 work schedule and there is a shift differential for second and third shifts.
